HAAD- Your license to practice medical in UAE


In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), if an individual wants to practice within a profession, they will need to obtain a professional license. Healthcare professionals in Abu Dhabi must obtain their license through the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and therefore, must take the HAAD Exam. In order to appear for HAAD examination, it requires 3 years of work experience after registration, a year in surgical ward and another in specialty care in any hospital.

HAAD exam tips

Make sure to prepare well for the exam. Start your preparation at least 3 months before the exam date and dedicate at least 15 to 20 hours per week for exam preparation. Read relevant books and most importantly attempt as many MCQs as possible to drill your exam skills.

Examinees are asked to answer 150 items computer-based questions for three hours. The passing rate is 90 percent and above, and the result of the examination will be immediately available after you finish it. In the examination results, the percentage of your correct answers is not stated. Instead, only a pass or fail result is shown.
